Cancer support for patients, survivors, and caregivers

Emma's Rainbow / El Arcoiris de Emma

Emma's Rainbow is HHI's cancer support group for Hispanic men and women living with any type of cancer, as well as survivors and caregivers. The service creates a welcoming bilingual space where participants can share concerns, receive practical guidance, and learn about screening, treatment navigation, emotional support, and community resources.

Cancer Education

“My Health In My Hands” / “Mi Salud En Mis Manos”

Breast Self-Examination Demonstrations and Cervical Cancer education for groups of six or more women. Community Health Workers educate participants on:

Who is at risk?
What are the risk factors?
What are the symptoms?
Proper Self-Examination techniques

“Breast Health Bingo”

An informal and non-threatening game of bingo designed to educate on the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Contact HHI to sign-up for a Bingo Demonstration at your location.

Support beyond a diagnosis

Cancer affects the whole family. HHI helps participants ask questions, prepare for appointments, understand referrals, and find support that respects language, culture, transportation barriers, and insurance status.

Prevention and early detection

HHI also connects community members to breast and cervical cancer education, mammogram and PAP referrals, and prevention messages that encourage early action. The goal is to reduce fear and make the next step easier.
