Central Florida Health Care For All Coalition (CFHCFA)

It is Hispanic Health Initiatives, Inc.’ (HHI) firm conviction that everyone should have the opportunity to truly enjoy and appreciate a healthy life. Therefore, it was without hesitation that HHI formed an advocacy group in support of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). Under the direction of HHI’s Executive Director, Central Florida Health Care for All Coalition was formed in 2010 to call for the implementation of the recently enacted Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act statute. CFHCFA is a nonpartisan, community led coalition that consists of local leaders and professionals interested in helping their community achieve its full potential through positive and constructive community involvement. The Coalition’s goal is to encourage civic engagement, enabling participants to make informed decisions about their community’s needs, address policy and systems changes as considered necessary and educate participants on how to achieve positive changes that lead to the improvement of the community’s quality of life, economic growth and prosperity.

Workshops in civic engagement and leadership skills are the hallmark of the coalition. The coalition has held numerous forums or town hall meetings as a means of keeping the grass roots community informed regarding the ACA and enrollment for health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace.
